What started as an environmental installation evolved into a customizable social distance device that embraces, protects and enhances the experience of togetherness while making people feel safe.
The product is a three-dimensional toroidal structure. The torus magnetic field pattern is the most coherent, self-generating and self-sustaining form of dynamic energy. It aims to remind us the importance about restoring harmony and inner peace in these highly stressful times. I want people to overcome fear and anxiety and replace it with a sense of safety”
Torii is a interactive divider inspired by the torus’s dynamic energy flow pattern: the most coherent, self-generating and self-sustaining form of dynamic energy.
Torii is a freestanding 18’ diameter x 8’ in high toroidal-shaped space divider, consisting of 32 elliptical fiberglass rings independently pivot into a central aluminum axis. Each individual ring is to be covered with different fabrics to create solid or translucent panels.
Torii’s contemporary design is a simple and playful solution for social distance, visual privacy, or to create a whimsical and interactive backdrop for an event or performance.
It has the flexibility to be fold and create multiple areas with a desired feel and look. Torii can be use indoor and outdoor. The user can interact, move, and explore these panels and also the spaces between them.
When stored, the folding panels can be dissembled into 32 rods and a 20” long aluminum cylinder. When assemble It expands to an 18′ ( 5.5m) diameter structure.
