BANNISTER LOFT
2004
Miami, FL
Playful, practical, and interactive, the Bannister Loft is the first project where Pons explored the concept of Low-Tech / High-End design. In this small, informal beach apartment applied art changes the perception and functionality of space, adding value in many ways. A series of bakery carts covered in latex and wood double as storage and mutable room dividers. Sheer curtains become a conceptual mural of the ocean view that lies beyond them. The popcorn ceiling is transformed into a monochromatic artwork.
