OWL RESIDENCE

2016

The Owl House shines with simplicity. An elevated concrete deck and concrete trellis run along the side of the garden, providing shelter while becoming an extension of the gardens and the pool. This first level hosts a family room, a small courtyard, a stair hall, and the dining and kitchen service areas. Upstairs, two bedrooms sit atop the trellis overlooking the garden as if they were two tree houses between the canopies. Natural light filters through oak trees and flows deeply into the home. An operable shutter system further filters the light into the second-floor bedrooms, which resemble tree-house cabanas and enjoy views of the garden and surrounding treetops.
